Mcc0053340.DT News. Rota.The Grenadier Guards has one of the finest, longstanding reputations as a tough fighting force. A regiment which has a proud history of service to the sovereign in times of war and peace – be it on operations in Iraq and Afghanistan or guarding the Royal Palaces. The 1st Battalion of the Grenadier Guards is based at Aldershot. It consists of three Rifle companies, Support Company which consists of an anti-tank platoon, a mortar platoon, a reconnaissance platoon and a sniper platoon.

The Duke of Edinburgh is Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, and Life Member of the Grenadier Guards Association, which maintains links between past and present members of the Regiment.
The Rota will cover elements of HRH's visit to the Grenadier Guards, as directed on the day. This will include The Duke arriving, meeting personnel, watching part of a football match and meeting members of the Sergeant's Mess.
